Sometimes the best deals aren't made with money. I wanted to photograph my work inside a stunning old brick warehouse. Instead of paying the hourly fee, I made the owner an offer: let me in, and I'll build you something. She wanted green. I built her a square birdhouse with decorative beam details and her initials — AUW — across the top.
